How do I measure for a new sectional garage door?

Ideally a sectional garage door is installed BEHIND the structural opening and therefore the ideal ordering size is the largest measurements taken for the width and the height.
i.e. Measure your opening width at 2286mm wide and 2125mm high and this is the ordering size for the sectional door.

You must measure the inside faces of the structural opening including the internal headroom above the lintel/RSJ and also measure into the garage as a sectional door will come a lot further into the garage than an up and over door. You can view our “How to measure your garage door” blog for more information by clicking here.

Can I use a timber sub frame for a sectional garage door?

Yes of course and it quite often may be necessary if you do not have a brick return face to install to.
All sectional garage doors in Europe are designed to be installed directly to the brickwork of a garage opening and the best position is normally on the inside face to maximise width and then height as you end up behind the lintel/RSJ as well.

However there are times when the design of the garage means there may not be a brick pier on one or both sides and therefore no internal face to fit to. In this instance, you can install a timber sub frame to create the internal face with the timber sections. You can view our “how to measure your garage door” blog for more information by clicking here.

How long will I have to wait for a garage door delivery?

All of our doors are made to order and therefore can take anything between 4-6 weeks from your cleared funds being received. As a rule of thumb a door with a standard colour will take between 4-5 weeks and a door with a special RAL colour will take 5-6 weeks. We will give an estimated delivery time as soon as the order has been processed here, and this date will be confirmed closer to the time once the manufacturing process is complete.

How much notice will I get of a delivery date?

As above we will call you once the order has been processed here and give an estimated week commencing date for delivery. Once the manufacturing process is complete and the door is ready to ship we will be able to confirm this date to you. We will contact you up to 5 days in advance of delivery and you will also receive a telephone call from the delivery driver to give you one hours notice of delivery.

Can I have a specific delivery date & time slot?

We will always try to accommodate our customer needs and whilst we can agree a suitable date we will not be able to give you a time other than an AM or PM delivery slot, and as above the driver can call you one hour before to advise.

Do I need to help the driver with the door upon delivery?

Our delivery service is based on one driver per truck and we will therefore require that the person receiving the delivery is able bodied to help assist in the unloading where required. If this is not possible, please advise us in advance and we can arrange for two men on the delivery, this will however incur an additional delivery premium of £75.00

What do I receive with a new door?

You will receive the door, the fittings required for the door to operate and the remote control system including two remote control handsets.
